After a lengthy development cycle, the new oakgrovechurch.com is launched! The new site uses WordPress as a CMS and integrates flash audio for sermons, embedded calendar, ministry pages, and prayer request contact form. The new site is online and the “Grand Opening” unveiling will happen this Sunday during our church service. My Christmas gift to the church this year is a redesigned website with added functionality and features.

I have the honor of being the web administrator for my church, Oak Grove Church in Evansville, Wisconsin. The existing site was a custom CMS from a web development company the church has been using for the past couple of years. Behind the scenes I am building a brand new website built upon the ubiquitous WordPress platform. This website is about 65% complete and will hopefully be launching within the next few weeks/months.

In the meantime, I am making updates to the existing site as they are needed. One such update is the Great Commission Conference. Launching today are the site tweaks that bring this conference to the front page. Updates include changing the main page, creating the conference landing page, registration page, and modifying the links on the events page.

Abacus Tech Design is redesigned in WordPress now. The WordPress ecology is very impressive and allows a lot of plugins and extensibility one just can’t find with other CMS’s. Welcome to the redesign. I have really been impressed with WordPress and decided to move the entire site over from Joomla. I really liked the template I was using for Joomla and one of the main reasons I decided to finally move it to WordPress was because I found the Arclite template. It is beautiful.

Abacus Tech Design now offers CCNA Certified network design and consulting. We have morphed from a strictly website design oriented company to also include onsite management of business network needs. We can design and implement new infrastructure, or troubleshoot, modify, and standardize existing equipment.

run for president is live

The website for the board game Run For President is live and ready to go! run-for-pres.com includes online ordering through PayPal. The site is an ongoing endeavour and I was able to make numerous updates today. I learned the importance of and implemented “permanent 301 redirection.” I made mulitple site updates including meta keywords and the meta description. I am relatively new to SEO, but from all I have read, having these things present does not hurt.

throughthefire.us is reborn

It has been a long time coming, but throughthefire.us has risen from the ashes and has again taken flight! The website is designed with community in mind. throughthefire.us was the world’s first fansite dedicated to the band Day of Fire before falling into decay. The site now features a forum as its core functionality with the option for regular article and news updates. The site was built using Joomla!and the forum is the integration of the SMF forums. I am excited about the new website and I hope it helps bring together people that have a love of Day of Fire!

Abacus Tech Design is proud to announce the launch of the new acclaimsheetmetal.com website! Adam Vetter is the owner of Acclaim Sheet Metal, LLC and produces custom copper, aluminum, and steel pieces for homes in the Northern Wisonsin area. Adam has been very busy lately and we are proud to be the web-o-sphere part of his business.

The site’s design template is originally from Studio7Designs and was mercilessly hacked and beaten into submission carefully sculpted by yours truly. The website is designed with an artistic feel and employs the lightbox.js technique to make the photo galleries a special experience. Adam’s work takes center stage with numerous galleries of the work he has created in the past couple of years. There is also a blog (powered by blogger) that gives Adam the ability to post upcoming Parade Home events, plus anything else he would like to share or promote about his business.
